Hairs2u becomes latest mynewhair salon that cares.
A West Sussex – based mobile hairdresser has joined a pioneering charity’s expanding network of Salons that Care.
Rita Laurella’s services, called Hairs 2u are based in Findon, West Sussex, and have become the latest addition to mynewhair’s 800-strong network of Salons That Care across the UK and Ireland.
The charity, mynewhair, was founded and inspired by professional stylist Trevor Sorbie MBE, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016/17. mynewhair provides advice and support to anyone who has experienced medical hair loss, and has a national support network of independent salons and trained hair professionals who provide a wig-customisation service for their clients.
Rita is a member of the Freelance Hair Association and has already attended one of the mynewhair training seminars for hair professionals, and has now become part of the charity’s network – Salons that Care. As part of her work with the charity, Rita has pledged her commitment to responsible training and provide a caring and sensitive service for her clients, with her mobile services allowing her to do home visits.
There are currently around 900 hairdressers and 800 salons in the mynewhair Salons that Care network across all areas of the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and more than 100 delegates attend 12 Level 1 and 2 training seminars held every year.
Rita, from Hairs 2u, said: “I’m delighted to become part of the mynewhair network of Salons that Care and I’m really excited to be working with this fantastic charity. It’s great to know that I will be able to help so many people who are suffering from medical hair loss. It really will make such a difference to their lives, especially to people here in West Sussex, as I haven’t come across anyone else offering this service yet.”
Trevor Sorbie MBE, founder of mynewhair, said: “We welcome Hairs 2u to our ever-expanding network of UK-wide Salons that Care. We greatly value the work that all of our hair professionals do for people who suffer from medical hair loss – and we wouldn’t be able to do it without them!
“When we started the charity over 10 years ago, we had no idea that we would grow to an 800-strong network of salons, but we have big ambitions for the future. We look forward to welcoming more salons to our network and helping more and more people to access our services.”
